Pull Through Braid Quick Styles Perfect for School! | Q's Hairdos

One of my points in having tutorials with quick styles, is to be able to easily add them to our signature messy bun or top knot (tutorial found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSHzwwVx_Kc) or to a a quick braid or pigtails. All of the styles we do in the crown section are perfect for the examples in this tutorial. Simply choose which quick style you would like to do, then add a bun or braid! In this tutorial we will show you using the pull through braid. All of these styles take under 10 minutes to complete which includes the pull through braid.

Pull Through Braid

1. Take a 1 to 1 1/2 inch diagonal section and secure it with an elastic.
2. Take three more sections parallel to the first and secure with an elastic.
3. Once you have all 4 pony tails secured, take the first one and split it in half.
4. Move the second ponytail through and secure the first one to the third ponytail.
5. Pancake it around the elastic
6. Now repeat by taking the first ponytail and split it in half.
7. Move the second ponytail through and secure to the third ponytail. Pancake.
8. Repeat two more times but the only difference here is that you will secure the split ponytail to it's self instead of a third ponytail (since there isn't one.)
9. Pancake for desired effect!

Pigtails

1. To split the hair in half put a finger at the base of the hair line (where there is a small indent) then take the comb from the center at the top of the crown and pull it down to your finger.
2. This is an easy trick to get a straight partline.
3. Now simply secure each pigtail with an elastic.
4. You can now add bows, or wrap the hair like we have here.
5. Take a small section of hair and wrap around the elastic.
6. Now take another elastic and secure at the bottom of the wrapped hair.

Braid

1. Brush the hair to one side
2. Secure with an elastic
3. Add a three strand braid and secure with an elastic.
4. Add a bow!

Top Knot

1. To keep the shorter hairs in place, we like to add a pony with about 2-3 inches of hair at the base.
2. Secure with an elastic.
3. Secure the rest of the hair on top of the head to the side to add a side top knot.
4. Split the small pony in two and twist the hair to the right and cross to the left.
5. Secure the twist to the main pony on top.
6. Now add our signature messy bun (to see a slower tutorial of our messy bun, find the tutorial below.
7. Take an elastic and wrap it once, leaving it on your fingers.
8. Split the ponytail in half and fold the hair over on each side while holding with your fingers.
9. Pull the remaining elastic over the top and then tuck the ends back in by looping them to cover the elastic.
10. Adjust until you have the desired look!
