- Start with the crown section parted off. About 3-4 inches in a square.
- Add mousse (I will link the one we use below.)
- Split the crown section into three and secure each with an elastic.
- Take the Topsy Tail tool (I will link below) and put the pointed end underneath the pony, poking it through to the other side of the elastic.
- Now put the ponytail through the loop and pull at the pointed end until it pulls all the way through.
- Repeat with the other two ponytails. Pointed end underneath, ponytail through the loop and pull through.
- Secure all of the remaining hair into a high ponytail leaving the three flipped ponies out. Use more mousse to tame fly aways.
- (I would suggest adding more water and mousse to each of the three ponytails when you split them in half.)
- Take one of the side ponytails and split in half. Twist each half about 5 or 6 times.
- Form the heart shape and decide how big you would like the heart to be.
- Now pull both strands up straight together and secure with an elastic.
- Reform the heart once it is secured.
- Repeat on the other side ponytail.
- Split in half, twist, form the heart, secure with an elastic, reform heart.
- For the middle heart you will split it in half and twist, then take each half and put it through the heart that you already made on the same side.
- Once the two strands are put through the middle of the side hearts, you will secure this final heart with an elastic the same way. Pulling the strands straight up.
- Adjust the hearts again and now secure them to the high ponytail.
- You may need to loosen the hearts from the ponytail a little to fix the shape of them.
- Now we will do our signature messy bun. I will like a slower tutorial for this in the description below.
- I usually double up the elastic for this part. Leave the elastic on your fingers before securing it the last time.
- Split the pony in half. Curl the top half around to the top and hold with your finger.
- Curl the bottom half and hold with your thumb.
- Now take the remaining elastic and pull it over the top of the hair.
- Tuck the ends back into the elastic, multiple times if the hair is long enough.
- Add a bow and you are finished! This bow is from Labelle Baby which I will link below.
