Double Bubble Braid | Q's Hairdos

Loved this style on Quincy! She had lots of compliments on it and it held up for two days! We just fixed the last elastic that forms the ponytail on the second day. This style took us about 20 minutes. The part lines are the only tricky thing. The steps are really simple though! Follow along and I will show you how.

  1. Part the hair into two sections.
  2. Start with a deep side part start back on the part about 1 inch.
  3. Go diagonally back staying about 2-3 inches above the ear and above the neckline.
  4. End at the other ear.
  5. Clip the left section of hair out of the way or use a large elastic like we did here.
  6. Take a diagonal section from your part line to the front of the hairline. The sections will be about 1 1/2 inches wide.
  7. Secure in an elastic very close to the part line.
  8. Continue taking 1 1/2 inch sections and secure with an elastic at the part line.
  9. Now we will start bubbling the sections between the elastics by gently pulling at the ponytail section that was previously secured. So just the top part.
  10. Continue bubbling each section after you secure them with elastics.
  11. Once you have finished securing all of the hair in the first section you have your first bubble braid.
  12. Now let out the rest of the hair and begin with a deep side part.
  13. Part the first section from the back of the side part diagonally to the same spot where you sectioned off your first ponytail.
  14. Secure with an elastic close to the part line and close to the first bubble braid.
  15. Here is where you need to concentrate on the part lines.
  16. It will start looking like the spokes on a wheel.
  17. If you just think of the part lines all coming out from one spot. That spot being the back of the deep side part line.
  18. Continue as before. Securing sections of hair that are the same size as the front sections.
  19. Then bubble each section as you go.
  20. Add water and spray gel as needed to tame flyaways. (linked below)
  21. When you have reached the last elastic on the first bubble braid, you will secure the remaining hair in that same spot with another elastic.
  22. Curl the ponytail if desired.
