- Part the hair into two sections.
- Start with a deep side part start back on the part about 1 inch.
- Go diagonally back staying about 2-3 inches above the ear and above the neckline.
- End at the other ear.
- Clip the left section of hair out of the way or use a large elastic like we did here.
- Take a diagonal section from your part line to the front of the hairline. The sections will be about 1 1/2 inches wide.
- Secure in an elastic very close to the part line.
- Continue taking 1 1/2 inch sections and secure with an elastic at the part line.
- Now we will start bubbling the sections between the elastics by gently pulling at the ponytail section that was previously secured. So just the top part.
- Continue bubbling each section after you secure them with elastics.
- Once you have finished securing all of the hair in the first section you have your first bubble braid.
- Now let out the rest of the hair and begin with a deep side part.
- Part the first section from the back of the side part diagonally to the same spot where you sectioned off your first ponytail.
- Secure with an elastic close to the part line and close to the first bubble braid.
- Here is where you need to concentrate on the part lines.
- It will start looking like the spokes on a wheel.
- If you just think of the part lines all coming out from one spot. That spot being the back of the deep side part line.
- Continue as before. Securing sections of hair that are the same size as the front sections.
- Then bubble each section as you go.
- Add water and spray gel as needed to tame flyaways. (linked below)
- When you have reached the last elastic on the first bubble braid, you will secure the remaining hair in that same spot with another elastic.
- Curl the ponytail if desired.
