Three Simple Fancy Ponytails | Q's Hairdos | Tessi's Hairstyle

These three styles are really simple and quick (you know, my favorite kind) but I love that they spice up that ponytail and make it a little more fancy.

Style #1 Rope Braid into a Ponytail

  1. Start by taking a 2 inch by 1 inch section in the front at your partline.
  2. Split in half and cross the front over the back
  3. Add a 1 inch section to the front piece and cross over the back
  4. Again add a 1 inch section to the front piece and cross over the back
  5. I continue this method until I reach the ear
  6. Stop adding hair at the ear and simple twist the two pieces to the left and cross them to the right (while watching the video it will look opposite, but when you do it on yourself it will be the same)
  7. Secure with an elastic and pancake for desired effect
  8. Gather the hair into your hands at the height you would like your ponytail
  9. Grab the rope braid and add into your ponytail
  10. Secure with a large elastic
  11. Take a small section of hair from underneath and wrap around the elastic
  12. Secure with a bobby pin
  13. Take the small elastic out
  14. I like to pull at the hair in my crown to add a little height
  15. You're finished!

Style #2 Two Twists into a Ponytail
  1. Take a section about 2 inches back in the crown and clip out of the way.
  2. Take the front section and grab a small part, then just start twisting the hair together towards the ear.
  3. Twist all the way to the back use hairspray if needed
  4. Secure with a clip
  5. Do the same to the crown section that we clipped out of the way
  6. Twist it parallel to the first twist all the way to the back
  7. Clip the twists to hold them in place
  8. Gather all of the hair to where you would like your ponytail to sit
  9. Take the clips out and secure all of the hair with a large elastic
  10. Take a small section of hair from underneath and wrap around the elastic
  11. Secure with a bobby pin
  12. I like to pull at the hair in my crown to add a little height
  13. That's style #2

Style #3 Fake a Longer Ponytail
  1. Take the hair from the ears up
  2. Brush the hair straight back
  3. Push the hair forwards slightly to add height
  4. Secure this top section with a large elastic
  5. Before pulling the hair all the way through the last time, I left it pulled halfway to keep it out of the way for this next section, you could also use a clip.
  6. Take the bottom section and brush upwards to sit right underneath the top pony
  7. Secure with a small clear elastic
  8. Take a small section of hair from underneath and wrap around the elastic
  9. Secure with a bobby pin
  10. I like to pull at the hair in my crown to add a little height and add hairspray
  11. All done!
