Waterfall Braid 2 Ways | Q's Hairdos

I love this style when hair is down and it's super fun to pull into a side messy bun or ponytail as well! The braid is a french braid, you just leave one of the sections out each time you add a new stitch to the bottom. If it is a little more complicated for you, no worries! You can just use elastics to get a similar look! Follow along and I will show you how!

Waterfall Braid #1

1. Start with slightly damp hair brushed through and a deep left side part (you can part on the other side, but everything will be opposite, so just keep that in mind)
2. Take a 1-2 inch section in the front and split into three.
3. Take the left section and cross over top of the middle.
4. Cross the right over top of the middle.
5. Now add a section of hair to the left and cross over the middle.
6. Here is where you will let go of the right piece.
7. Grab a new section of hair behind the piece you just let go and cross the new section over the middle.
8. Add a new section to the left and cross over the middle.
9. Let go of the right section
10. Grab a new section and cross over the middle.
11. Repeat these steps two more times:
12. Add a new section to the left and cross over the middle.
13. Let go of the right section
14. Grab a new section and cross over the middle.
15. Pull down on the strands you had let go if needed (the ones that make the waterfall.)
16. Secure with an elastic.
17. Now you can leave it down or pull it into a side messy bun!

Waterfall Braid #2- with elastics

1. Starting in the front, take a 1-2 inch section, the smaller the section the more waterfall pieces you will have falling down. 
2. Secure the hair at the bottom of the section towards the back with an elastic.
3. Take another 1-2 inch section
4. Before you secure the hair in an elastic, you will split the first pony in half and take the top half to secure it with the next ponytail in the elastic.
5. Making sure to secure it at the bottom of the section in the back.
6. Repeat 2 more times by taking another 1-2 inch section, split the first pony in half and secure the top half with the next pony.
