Bubble Braided Pigtail Buns say that 5 times fast :D This style was so cute on Quincy! It held up really well through out the day and is perfect for summertime activities! Just be sure to put sunscreen on the part lines!
This style took us about 15 minutes. It may look more complicated than it is. The steps are really simple. Just follow along! This style was originally inspired by @toddlerhairideas (https://www.instagram.com/toddlerhairideas/?hl=en)
- Starting with slightly damp hair and a center part line.
- Section off the left side just behind the ear from the top of the crown downwards.
- Secure with an elastic and repeat on the right side.
- Part the hair down the center back.
- Clip the left side out of the way.
- Add more water if needed.
- Leave the front ponytail out as you continue.
- Start at the top of the back right section.
- Take a diagonal one inch section and secure in an elastic.
- Continue the bubble braid by taking another diagonal one inch section.
- Secure this section and the previous section together with an elastic.
- Gently pull at the previous ponytail section to form a bubble.
- Repeat by securing diagonal one inch sections until you reach the base of the hair.
- When there is about two inches of hair left I secure the rest in the same spot as the previous elastic. This way the buns sit a little higher on the head.
- Take the front ponytail and add a three strand braid.
- Gently pancake the braid.
- Secure with an elastic to the back ponytail bubble braid.
- Now add our signature messy bun.
- Take two elastics (to double up for a more secure bun) and wrap around once or twice.
- Keeping the elastics on your fingers.
- Split the ponytail in half
- Curl the top half up and hold with your finger.
- Curl the bottom half down and hold with your thumb.
- Pull the rest of the elastic over top of the buns you formed.
- Pull at the ends to adjust the size of the bun.
- Curl and tuck the ends back into the elastic.
- You may have to curl them again if the hair is long.
28. Now repeat all of those steps on the left side!
29. Be sure to line up the part lines when you section each ponytail off.
